The US Government seems pretty irked about the whole wikileaks scandal. And why wouldn’t they? Nobody likes to have their private messages read by outside parties(Like NSA warrantless phone and electronic wiretaps) who feel entitled to have access. Wikileaks claims it’s for the greater good but it’s a clear invasion of the USA Governments privacy(Like TSA’s invasive patdowns). Hillary Clinton says there is nothing brave about putting innocent lives at risk(Like CIA funding and training jihadists like Osama Bin Laden to fight the Russians) and I totally agree with that. It’s potentially embarrassing for the embassies to have their private analysis judged as thought crimes(Like Patriot Act keeping track of library book rentals.) Julian Assange is just another egotistical guy pretending to be a journalist to get airtime(Like the 5:1 ratio of MSNBC and FOX hosts who are white-males compared to white-females with their very own show). The State Department is supposed to do things like collect credit card information, biometric information, and other personal things of high-profile people(Just don’t guess Sarah Palin’s email password.) And Pfc. Bradley Manning is kind of a traitor for leaking the documents(If military threw him out for being gay then it never would have happened). I mean this is all secret and very sensitive information that needs to be kept under wraps(The CD-RW’s are there to make sure the data can be moved to a safe location just incase.) I wouldn’t classify wikileaks as a terrorist organization(like hamas-controlled lebanon who receives US aid). Wikileaks really needs to do a better job of redacting sensitive information of these embassy cables(Wikileaks should do what wikileaks did and hire wikileaks to blackout information in the wikileaks warlogs.) Lastly I just want to say, what goes around comes around, knowledge is power, sunlight is the best disinfectant, yadayadayada. If government gets to examine my personal space then we should get to examine theirs.
